LG G Flex 2 VS LG G3. Battle of two big hero"s!

LG has released the new LG G Flex at CES 2015 last month. The LG G Flex has a curved shape and has gained much popularity in a short time. Some of our readers has asked us to compare the LG's flagship device of 2014, the LG G3 and the LG G flex. So let's look at the design, camera, software, performance comparison of these two brothers.
LG G3 VS LG G Flex 2
DESIGN:
Fist let's talk about the design. The new LG G Flex 2 has a curved shape which gives a premium and unique look and feel where the LG G3 is straight which is found in most of the devices. Due to the curved shape the G Flex 2 fits in hand perfectly. Some of the users were worried about the fitting of the Flex 2 in pocket. Well we assure you that the LG G Flex 2 feels comfortable in the pocket however if you wear tight jeans you may find a little bit uncomfortable with the LG G flex 2 rather than the G3.
LG has shrunken down the LG G Flex 2 which will be a plus for the users who think that 6-inch original LG G Flex was too large for them. LG G Flex comes with a glossy back cover where as the LG G3 is covered by a metallic back cover. But the glossy back cover of the Flex 2 has self-healing technology which means scratches will disappear after some times which is really great. The self-healing back cover of the LG G Flex 2 also gives a good grip on hand where the LG G3 feels a little bit slippery in hand. Now both the devices G3 and the G flex 2 houses the power button plus the volume rockers on the back right under the camera optics which is LG's new design language. The left and right corners are kept clean. Both devices comes with a 5.5 inch screen with a very thin bazel on every sides.
DISPLAY:
Both of the devices features a 5.5-inch display but the LG G3 has a higher resolution display. The LG G3 is powered by a Quad HD screen (1440p) which was the fist Quad HD display in mobile history. On the other hand the LG G flex 2 comes with a 1080p screen resolution due to its curve.
Though there is a difference in the screen resolutions of the devices, movies and game are enjoyable at same extent in both of the devices.

Some of the G3 users have complained there was some slight stutter in the text based areas like the browser in G3 due to its high resolution. But during the use of G3 i haven't faced such problem. However it was enjoyable to watch a movie or to browse the Internet in the G3.
PERFORMANCE:
Though the G Flex 2 is not the flagship device of LG, it comes with the latest powerful processor - the Snapdragon 810 and the Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. Because of the powerful processor and GPU the performance was great during running a app or playing games. However there are some problems with the LG's Lollipop based UI, we hope LG will fix them with an update.
On the other hand the G3 comes with the Snapdragon 801 and Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of Ram which is a little bit outdated comparing to LG G Flex 2's processor and GPU. However performance on G3 is still great due to highly optimized UI.
HARDWARE:
The main deference between the G3 and the G Flex 2 in the hardware sector is the curved display. The G Flex 2 have a self healing back cover which is a plus. You will get removable back cover in G Flex 2 but it doesn't allow to access the battery, G Flex 2 is powered by a 3000 mAh which will give you around 1 day of battery backup. The micro SD card slot and sim card slots are underneath the back cover.
On the other hand you will get remove able batter with the G3 which is the biggest plus point of G3. The G3 also holds a battery of same capacity like the G Flex 2 (3000 mAh). The LG G3 also got a micro SD card slot and sim card slot. Battery back up is same as the Flex 2 in G3.
CAMERA:
Having laser focus, 13 MP rear facing camera and sample camera interface shooting experience was enjoyable on both of the devices. HDR, panorama, and dual shooting modes are common on both devices however the magic focus mode was not present in the G Flex 2. The focusing of G3 is a little bit faster than the G Flex. On the other hand the G flex's camera seems a bit faster than G3's. Both devices supports 4K video recording. You might notice temperature increase is early in G3 while recording 4K videos. In camera department both the brothers give the same camera experience.
SOFTWARE:
The LG Flex 2 is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has got the LG's new UI based on Lollipop. The G3 is still running on Android 4.4 Kitkat though in some regions the Lollipop update was released on the air.
We can definitely say that LG's previous UI which was used on G3 was fully constructed and it was enjoyable to use. On the other hand the LG's new UI which is based on Lollipop and used in G Flex 2 still need some improvement. We hope LG will fix and improve the new UI with and update.
