Android provides an option to update your device via OTA if you don't get the over the air update. You can flash your device yourself to get the update using the OTA file.
One a small number of Nexus devices have got the update to Android 5.0.1, basically the tablets. But its only a matter of time until the Nexus Smartphones get the update too.
